Since the AGM last December 2007 there’s been a lot of activity within the Membership Committee. Since I took over the chair in September we’ve been looking over the policies regarding Member Selection, Over and Under-Housing and the Internal Moves Policies. These policies are all entwined so we have decided to deal with them as a whole comparing what we have to the sample policies set down by the CHF BC. We inherited the revamping that was initiated earlier by Bob Cole and we hope to have a revised copy to show you by the summer meeting.
The committee is trying as much as possible to operate as a team and it’s been quite fun even though we have had somewhat of a heavy go of it right off the bat. Lots of the members of the committee have taken on accountabilities from which there are lots to choose and it’s been great to work with them all. We had some fits and starts in the last few months and I’d like to liken those to turning on an engine, warming up and getting in gear. We’ve had very valuable learning experiences.

We’ve had awesome applicants wanting to come into the co-op so that we’ve had a hard time choosing between them. Our guidelines in policy kept us straight during those times.
